Warren Leo Stangl, age 96, died May 18, 2022, in Owatonna.

Friends may greet the family Monday, May 23, 2022, at Brick-Meger Funeral home from 5 – 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in Claremont.

Warren was born July 26, 1925, one of 13 children, to Frank and Julia Stangl. He grew up on a farm near Breda, Iowa. He worked as a “hired man” for area farmers for many years. Warren met Laura commencing their on-going soulmate relationship, leading to 71 years of marriage.

In 1955, they moved to Claremont, where they purchased a farm and raised four children. They farmed and worked in dairy until 1975. Following the sale of his dairy herd in 1975, he worked as a mechanic for implement dealers, fixing balers and assembling new machinery.

Upon retirement, they purchased a motorhome and traveled south for many winters. They were longtime members of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Claremont. Warren enjoyed fishing, softball, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Warren is survived by his children: Marcia (Dan) Renchin, Cannon City, Minn.; Dan Stangl, Owatonna; Doug (Deb) Stangl, Estherville, Iowa; and Kevin (Laurie) Stangl, Cloquet, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Laura, infant daughter Cora Lee, daughter-in-law Carolyn, and 12 siblings. For more information or to leave an online condolence message go to
