Winter sports are coming

With the current sub-freezing temperatures, you don’t need me or the House of Stark (a Game of Thrones reference) to tell you that winter is coming.

However, one of the positive of getting further into November is that the winter sports season is just around the corner.

Practices are already underway for a few teams. The Dodge County Wildcats girls’ hockey team started practicing a couple weeks ago and the boys’ started this past Monday.

The girls’ first game was against New Prague this past Tuesday and their next game is home against Mound Westonka at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15.

Meanwhile, the boys’ first game is an away game against Hastings at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Their first home game is against Tartan the following Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m.
